Ciao Bella! Decorations for Italian Dinner

Ciao Bella! Decorations for Italian Dinner

Put on some Italian music, cook up some pasta, and you have the makings for a fun and inexpensive dinner party. If you have been looking for something different and fun to do with your friends, look no more. But be sure to add the right decorations for Italian dinner.

Italians are the masters of the art of fine living. That includes eating...dinners are long, delicious, and offered on delightfully colorful dinnerware. Lengthy, multi-course lunches and dinners and endless hours sitting in outdoor cafés sipping espresso with family and friends are the norm. Americans eat as fast as they can before an evening event and complain if the check is too slow coming. Italians, on the other hand, enjoy the meal as an end in itself, and only a very rude waiter will rush you. So when you dine on an Italian meal, take your time and enjoy your surroundings.

Decorate your table with old wine bottles topped with candles or filled with flowers. Use colorful dinnerware and linens on your table. If you are lucky enough to own some fine Italian Deruta pottery, by all means use it on your table. You can also find more inexpensive Italian and other colorful serving pieces at discount stores such as TJMaxx or Marshalls. Some flowers, candles, colorful serveware go a long way towards establishing the ambiance.
Colorful glassware accessories add to the theme as well. Look for vases, and really any colorful pieces that will enhance your tablescape and your surrounding areas.

Decorations for Italian Dinner do not have to be expensive. You can even decorate with the beautiful food that you serve to your guests. Let their eyes feast on a serving tray or platter lined with some lovely BRUSCHETTA WITH GOAT CHEESE, ROASTED PEPPER, AND BASIL (recipe) as a first course. Garnish with edible flowers, lettuce and herbs. Or, serve a colorful ANTIPASTI, it's beautiful and decorative as well as tasty! Move on to the pasta course. You can find nice pasta serving sets that set the mood- go for the CLASSIC SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS, everyone's favorite. One of my most memorable dinners in Rome was just a plate of spaghetti with meatballs..... the spaghetti was cooked perfectly al dente and the meatballs just melted in my mouth.
Don't forget to make a green salad with Italian dressing. Get creative, serve the salad in a large lettuce lined ceramic planter for an alfresco meal served outdoors. Dessert in Italy is usually simple. Serve cookies and Illy Italian coffee or Limoncello.
Have fun, be creative, and enjoy the meal!

Italians are very artistic, so as in every aspect of their daily living. You can see that they are artistic even when they eat. Their tables are full of different decorations to make it very beautiful and special. And we can also be artistic like them, but we don't have to buy that very expensive decorations, all that we need is creativity!
